Date: April 16th 2010
Dear Saath team and collaborators,
On May 8, 2010, Team UCLA AANCART (#821) will be walking together at the 17th Annual Entertainment Industry Foundation REVLON Run/Walk for Women Los Angeles to increase awareness of the cancer burden affecting Asian Americans. Each year, approximately 30 organizations are selected as beneficiaries of the event and are awarded a grant in relation to how much its team raises. As the only beneficiary that focuses on the Asian American population, UCLA AANCART has received a total of $30,000 in the past two years, an amount which they have shared through mini-grants to their community partners such as Saath.
We need to have 25 people to register as part of Team UCLA AANCART, however, to qualify as a team. We are walking to increase the awareness of the cancer burden affecting Asian Americans, the only racial/ethnic group in the U.S. that experiences cancer as the leading cause of death. We would love for you to be part of the team.
Please register to join our team or donate online through the following webpage link. The deadline to register is April 16.
